Great product! It is good to find an all-in-one website security solution.

    Thanks,

    John

Great product. The Muslim Brotherhood had been killing me. They’d hack my server before I could get everything fixed.
I am using on about 300 sites and have had no further problems.

The only improvement that I’d like to see is for you to develop a global view so you could monitor all of your domains from one place. That would be helpful I believe.

Installed Secure Scan Pro on my new WP site at approx. 9:00 AM.
At 9:07 I received the following email notice (which the hosting company dis-avowed):
    “User failed to log in”

My guess is that it was a very unwelcome visitor.

    Thank you, Paul.

Hi, I bought this and another one of your products, very cool stuff. I tried to view the install.php and wp-config.pho files and see a blank screen or in install.php a message telling me its already installed. How does a hacker actually access these files if they are not secure? I am asking out of curiosity and for white hap purposes. Where can I get this type of info so I can learn more about how these sites are being hacked? Keep up the good work.

      Hi Evan
Historically.. hackers have used install.php to get access to the database. With wp-config its more a case of some hackers can access to your file system through wordpress, and then they can see the wp-config and therefore the database details.

      Hope that helps.
      regards

    Hi Paul,

I have set-up a different login url for my WP sites

(my server had a Ddos attack on the wp-login.php script)

But strangely enough people still find my login url and try to login…

    – How do they find the login url?
    – Isn’t it possible to have a private login url that no-one can find? (that would solve most problems I guess :))

Have you checked where w-admin redirects to?

There were hundreds of brute force attempts when I woke up this morning. Tons of them were from different IP’s and they only tried once.

I had to copy and paste them by hand to ban them. Can you make this easier?

Could you put a ban button next to each attempt?

Could you also give the option of the time of the ban being a permanent setting? I always choose 1 year but it’s an added step to scroll down every time I add an IP.

Is there a reason for not having a lifetime setting?

Maybe you could also allow us to add an IP that is exempt from being banned? …Like my home IP.

Thanks so much Paul for developing this program. I have lived in constant fear ever since last year when DDos affected my main site for nearly a month. I purchased SiteLock, WordFence + the usual security plugins and still never felt completely safe, until now. I’ve puchased from you guys before and find you and your team to be highly motivated to excellence and customer service. It’s this high degree of integrity that I count on and look for when doing business. Thanks…;)

I’m confused by the results of my scans because there are TWO results: one that results “HAVE CHANGED” and one that there are “NO CHANGES”

    EXAMPLE:
Scan was run on July 21, 2015 @ 12:33 am
    Run time: 21 sec
SecureScanPRO results: results *have changed* since last scan
SecureScanPRO results: no changes since last scan

Have I set something up incorrectly?

    • SSP Team July 27, 2015 at 12:20 pm #

      Hi Stacy,

There are two results because it runs two separate tests. First it does a standard scan of all your files and second it scans the WordPress core files. Yes, I’m sure you have set up everything correctly.

      Kind Regards,
      Kirsi
